Congratulations for both you and your fiancé as you embark upon this next part of your journey together. Marriage is no easy undertaking, and here at All Saints, we hope to prepare you for this lifelong commitment to one another as best as we can - ultimately relying upon the grace given by Jesus Christ in your marriage. As you begin to think about what the wedding day will look like, we realize that the day is simply the start, the marriage is a life-long bond that continually calls us to sacrifice for the good of the other, like Christ has given himself for us.
When planning the details for the wedding day, please keep in mind a few key pieces of information. To discuss your wedding plans, please contact the Director of Pastoral Ministries or call the parish office.
1) We ask that all those seeking to be married at All Saints Parish be registered and active parishioners for at least 6 months prior to the date of their anticipated wedding. Often, this means registering with the parish about a year in advance.
2) Before a date can officially be set, the couple must contact the parish and schedule a meeting with our Pastor, one of the Deacons, or the Director of Pastoral Ministries. During this meeting, we go over the different options and policies related to getting married here, as well as the needed preparation - after all, the wedding is one day, the marriage is for life.
3) After the initial meeting, the couple will take part in a series of sessions together to explore the deeper meaning and reality of marriage, as well as a couples retreat.
4) Meet with the Director of Music to discuss musical options, and meet with the Director of Pastoral Ministries to ensure all items needed have been completed, including the liturgy selections (readings, ministers, etc).
5) Finally, all couples are encouraged to find a mentor couple that they can invite into their preparation. This couple is usually best chosen from those that you know as a good model of a Catholic Marriage; while they will help with discussing on a deeper level what they have noticed within their own marriage, they will also become a life-long support for you.
